This Sunday it’s Mother’s Day in France and in Sweden. In the US, it was a couple of weeks ago, and seriously I don’t understand why we don’t have an international day for this very special occasion! BREAKFAST
Let’s start with some breakfast ideas, in case you would like to surprise your mum early in the morning, bringing her some nice flowers and delicious breakfast treats.

French Petits Choux “Chouquettes”‘
These lovely French “chouquettes” – basically choux puffs garnished with pearl sugar – are usually served for breakfast in France. Most of the people buy them in a bakery but I noticed lately how easy it was to bake them. Give them a try!
Chocolate Hazelnut Spread “Newtella”
This is like a Nutella but in a healthier version since there is no palm oil and only natural ingredients. Spread some onto a large slice of bread (or even better, onto a slice of brioche), or simply offer an entire jar of Newtella to your mum, she will be more than happy!
MAIN COURSES
Then of course it’s time for lunch, and your mum surely like something both colorful and pretty. Plus she might appreciate something quite healthy, with lots of vegetables and wholesome ingredients. Here are some ideas that your mum will love!
Beetroot Gaspachi with Goat Cheese Cream

Salmon and Avocado Quinoa Salad with Grapefuit Vinaigrette
Salmon and avocado are like best friends, and I really enjoy the two of them together. Then if you add a twist of grapefruit and some quinoa, you get a very healthy salad, packed with protein!
Sweet Potato and Goat Cheese Ravioli
Oh yes, making ravioli takes lots of love, I tell you! Making ravioli takes time, but it’s a really fun activity to make with your family. It’s both simple and elegant. Add a twist of sweet potato and goat cheese, it will amaze your mums taste buds!
DESSERTS & SWEET TREATS
This is the one, the newborn on the blog. I really love this raw cheesecake recipe. Super easy to make, very refreshing and with some nice hints of exotic tropical flavors.
