Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 ounces (90g) fresh goat cheese
  • ¾ cup (115g) dried cranberries, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 ¼ cups (155g) pecans, finely chopped
  • Pretzel sticks (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese, fresh goat cheese*, dried cranberries, salt and pepper, until well combined and smooth.
  2. Scoop out a small amounts of the cheese mixture and roll it into a small balls, then place onto a tray lined with parchment paper. Continue rolling into balls until all of the mixture has been used. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours to firm up.
  3. Gently roll each ball in the chopped pecans, and place on a serving platter. Just before serving, add a pretzel stick to each ball for easy pickup, or just serve as is, with crackers if desired.**

Notes

* You can also replace goat cheese with blue cheese, or make half and half if you want.

** You can make the cheese balls ahead of time, but don’t insert the pretzels until just before serving or they will become soggy.
